Privacy statement

Data we receive

• Through the question form: your name, email address, the topic you choose, the year you arrived in the Netherlands if you fill it in, and your message.
• As a client: your BSN, income statements, bank and savings balances, documents about housing, partner and children, and for freelancers your invoices and receipts. Tax work cannot be done without these.

Purpose and legal basis

We answer form questions on the basis of steps you ask for before an agreement (Article 6(1)(b) GDPR). Client data is processed to carry out the engagement, to file returns on your behalf and to keep records the law requires, such as the seven year retention duty for fiscal records in Article 52 of the General State Taxes Act (AWR).

Who sees it

Marloes and Tarik, and the Belastingdienst when we file for you. Our hosting provider, email provider and the supplier of our document upload portal process data on our instructions under a processing agreement. We do not sell data and do not use it for marketing.

Retention

Form questions that do not lead to an engagement are deleted after one year. Client files and returns are kept for seven years after the end of the tax year they concern, then deleted.

Security

Documents are exchanged through the upload portal or in person, not as email attachments where we can avoid it. Laptops are encrypted and the office archive is locked.

Your BSN

We use your citizen service number only where the law requires it: on returns, in letters to the Belastingdienst and in authorisations. It is never used to identify you for anything else and never appears in emails we write to you.

Your rights

You may ask to see, correct or delete your data, to restrict its use, or to receive it in a usable format. Some data we must keep for the tax authorities until the retention period ends. If you are unhappy with how we handle your data, you can complain to the Autoriteit Persoonsgegevens in The Hague.
